The Superbowl of Impeachment

We as a nation had the opportunity to watch the NFL Superbowl last night. It was exciting and proved once again that excellence and preparation has its rewards. Now starting tomorrow, Tuesday, the Senate will be holding a trial for our past President for planning and then implementing a 7-month long effort to subvert our democracy.

Just as in Myanmar, Donald Trump planned but this time failed to pull off an insurrection and coup. Hitler tried the same and failed the first time. Then came back and pulled it off again a few years later. This time we have all seen what Hitler accomplished and many of us are saying never again.

We should all realize that those who win write the history. The problem with Trump’s enablers is that they want to rewrite history even thought they lost. So, let’s take a look at the players. First is the quarterback. Donald Trump over his time as QB has lost the House of Representatives. Then he lost the Senate. And then he lost the Presidency. As might be expected he was pulled and replaced by President Biden.

We then we move on to the Offense. We have Rudy Giuliani, the Fox organization, the Pillow Man, Lin Wood (being investigated for voter fraud), and Trump’s myriad children. Not to mention Hawley, Cruz and Scott to name a few. They enabled and abetted in the lie that the election was a fraud. Even Attorney General Barr stated there was no evidence of fraud and later quit the team.

And finally, the Defense. There are those that are doing everything possible to distract the obvious by coming up with all kinds inane excuses to muddy the waters and do everything possible to pull off a slight of hand. Watch the left hand while they pick your brain with the right. This group of Senators are led by none other than Paul and Graham.

So here we are. We all saw with our own eyes and heard with our own ears what happened in the Insurrection game. We saw that the coup leaders lost. We saw policemen brutalized and murdered. We saw Republicans cowering on the floor with the Democrats. We saw the insurrectionists attempting to hang our Vice President and put a bullet in the head of our Speaker of the House. And we saw a sitting President who swore an oath to the Constitution foment and lead an insurrection. And we saw the President and his children watching the insurrection unfold in the safety of the White House as they laughed and danced on our TV screens. And now we will all see whether or not our Senate accepts the truth and acts like Patriots or as political flunkies.
